I'm a Tax & Finance Transformation Expert and AI Solutions Developer based in Nairobi, Kenya. At KPMG East Africa, I design and deploy sophisticated AI use cases across finance and tax functions — from AI-driven annual financial statement analysis to real-time Azure ML forecasting pipelines integrated with Power BI.
Formally trained as a Full-Stack Engineer (Moringa School), I expanded into AI and machine learning through self-directed study and hands-on professional delivery. I've rolled out GenAI platforms across East Africa, delivered workflow automations and reconciliation solutions in Nigeria, and collaborated with teams in South Africa — building RAG-based AI assistants and automating financial and tax compliance workflows at enterprise scale.
I translate complex tax and business requirements into clear functional specifications and system logic — embedding indirect tax rules into ERP, billing, and engine configurations, designing automated controls, and supporting projects end-to-end from requirements through UAT, go-live, and BAU. Designed and built the full-stack digital platform for the KPMG Africa Centre of Excellence — connecting SMEs, entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, and regulators across East and West Africa. Developed the React.js frontend, Django backend, and an algorithmic matching engine for investor-investee pairing.
Secure internal RAG assistant for tax & financial knowledge bases
Designed and deployed a secure, internal RAG-based AI assistant on Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search, indexing large tax and financial knowledge bases. Implemented RBAC, PII masking, and a governance framework aligned to corporate AI risk policies.

Contributed to the end-to-end rollout of KPMG's Digital Gateway GenAI platform across four East African countries — conducting risk assessments (Privacy Impact Assessments), managing user and client onboarding, and delivering structured AI training programmes. Designed and built GenAI personas and developed AI workflows for distinct East African tax use cases including VAT advisory, WHT compliance, transfer pricing guidance, and client-facing tax research. Collaborated across African KPMG member firms and internal teams to drive adoption and standardise service delivery.

Eliminating manual invoice processing for the KPMG finance team
Developed and deployed end-to-end invoice validation workflow automations for the KPMG finance team using Power Automate and Azure AI Builder — automating document extraction, validation rules, and approval routing. Integrated with SharePoint for document management and Power Apps for team-facing interfaces, embedding intelligent processing directly into ERP-connected finance workflows.
Connecting ERP ledger data to KRA iTax with automated variance flagging
Created end-to-end VAT reconciliation workflow automations connecting ERP ledger data to KRA iTax, triggering automated variance flags and generating audit-ready reconciliation reports via Power BI. Directly supported KPMG's internal finance teams through multiple KRA audit assessments, significantly reducing manual processing time and reconciliation errors.
